5p- Society Annual Conference and Get-Together

            The 2008 Annual 5p- Society Convention will be held in Norfolk, Virginia at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside.

The Blount and Zettlemoyer families are very excited to be hosting this wonderful event! The hotel is located in beautiful downtown Norfolk, VA. This is also only a 20-minute drive directly by interstate to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. For more information about our area, please visit www.vgnet.com and look under Virginia Beach, VA.

The Norfolk Marriott Waterside is centrally located, and within walking distance from many restaurants and shops. It is connected to shopping/eating/entertainment area by an aerial crosswalk from the parking garage attached to the hotel.

The sibling outing has been changed to the Ocean Breeze Waterpark. Waterpark fees and lunch are covered by the host family. The waterpark will provide lifevests if needed, but siblings should bring their bathing suits, sunscreen, and a towel with their names on it. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult. This should be a wonderful day for siblings to enjoy the warm weather together.

Please reference that you are with the 5p- Society and they should give you a room rate of $130.00 per night. Also, there is the Macarthur Mall within walking distance.

Taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel is going to be the cheapest way. There should be cabs waiting at the airport. If not, please call Andy’s Cab (757-461-8880) or Beach Taxi (757-486-4304). I was quoted around $23.00 for the taxi ride. Please verify with the driver.
